In September, Jeppe Holter and I had the pleasure of hand-painting illustrations for Hasselbakken Restaurant - a project developed by architects Arne Sødal and Olav Bjerve. "The Dragon House on St. Hanshaugen," designed by Holm Hansen Munthe, unfortunately burned down almost a hundred years ago and was never rebuilt. The dragon style was a distinctive Norwegian style and a celebration of wooden architecture. Although it lasted only a short period, it left its mark on Norwegian architectural history. The new plans for the restaurant incorporate modern features, and Hasselbakken Restaurant may once again emerge as a living meeting place for all of Oslo’s residents.
